Surrounded by her loving family, Annette Shelnutt Bradley Walsh, age 80, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 6, 2016. She was born December 29, 1935, in Athens, Georgia, the daughter of Gerald F. and Montie Hitchcock Shelnutt.
Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten. With a feisty zest for life, Mrs. Walsh enjoyed reading, playing Bridge and Canasta, traveling, and spending time with friends. She loved holidays and get togethers; any chance to spend time with her family and friends were her passion.
After graduating from Athens High School, she went to work for Independent Life Insurance Company for many years. Possessing a true servant's heart, she served our country as a military wife and homemaker. Upon the family's retirement from the military, she was a Regional Manager for H&R Block and eventually a franchise owner. As former owner of CoAn Business Services, she was an accountant and tax consultant. Annette was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church.
