Anne Cox Parrish, age 67, passed away September 24, 2013 in Athens, GA.
She was born in Waycross, Georgia, the daughter of James Monroe Cox, Sr. and Ethel Elizabeth Gunter Cox. In addition to her parents, Anne was predeceased by her brother, James Monroe Cox, Jr. (Lt. Col. U.S.A.F.)
She graduated from Waycross High School in 1964, and received a B.S. Degree in Business Administration-Economics from Valdosta State University in 1969.
In 1970 she married Alan Parrish of Atlanta, and they lived several places around the country during his career in the oil industry, eventually settling in Athens, Georgia.
In addition to her husband, Anne is survived by her sister-in-law, Mildred Owens Cox of Cochran, Georgia; 3 nieces: Donna Guillory (Lawrence) of Warner Robins, Delia Spann (Steve) of Warner Robins, Doraine Willis (Michael) of Cochran, along with several great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her husband's sister, Linda Abbey (Walter) of Atlanta and their daughter, Ansley Miller (Curtis) also of Atlanta.
Visitation will be at Lord and Stephens, WEST, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Bogart, GA 30622 on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Highway in Athens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Beech Haven Baptist Church, 2390 Broad Street, Athens, GA 30606.
