Anne (Montgomery) Lee

Anne Montgomery Lee, 85, of Athens passed away on July 22, 2022. Born on May 16, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Montgomery and Bert Lovern Montgomery Ivy.

Anne retired with the University of Georgia spending the last 25 years of her long term tenure with the University at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Prior to that, she worked for various university administrators and later went on to mentor several students in both Madison and Oconee County. She became a charter member of Friendship Presbyterian Church in June of 1947. Anne loved birds, flowers, and all things nature.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Chester Robert Lee; daughters, Julie Hill, Lydia Lee; grandchildren, Rebecca Braddock (Brannon), Michael Arwood (Jennifer); three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Richard Montgomery (Evelyn).

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 10:00 am at Friendship Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:00 am.
