Anna Lou Bradley

August 7, 1946 — April 13, 2024

Winder

Anna Lou Bradley, 77, of Winder, passed away on April 13, 2024. Born on August 7, 1946 in Hendersonville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James “Bub” Bradley and Rhoda Janie Dickson Bradley.

Anna spent most of her formative years in the rural countryside just outside of Bogart. Like most teenagers of the early 1960’s Athens, she would join in on cruising around town with her friends, making stops at The Varsity and Burger Chef. Anna graduated from Athens High School, Class of 1966. After graduation, Anna worked as an employee of the General Time factory. She married her ex-husband Roy Nunnally and moved to Madison County, becoming a mother to two children. After her children entered school, Anna started a new career at Madison County High School and then switching to Colbert Elementary and finally ending her career at Hull-Sanford Elementary where she worked until her retirement. She dearly loved working with children and many class photos, personalized notes, and crafts made by her students were proudly kept with her, keeping fresh in her mind the lives she touched. Throughout her life Anna enjoyed building out a yearly garden and taking trips to the mountains of northern Georgia and western North Carolina or occasionally a trip to the beach.  Upon retirement Anna relocated to the Winder community and quicky became involved with several local senior groups and continued to make new friends at her Senior living community and local church.

Anna would readily tell anyone that her greatest accomplishment of her life was the rearing of her children, Kenn & Claire. If you knew Anna you knew that she loved her children and her four grandchildren. The family is immensely grateful to the caregivers that watched over Anna as her health declined. The staff of Northeast Georgia Regional Medical Center Winder as well as Social Circle Nursing and Rehab Center and Abbey Hospice for their heartfelt care that they bestowed upon Anna. The family was extremely moved by these caregivers love and care that they showed Anna in her final days.

In addition to her parents James and Rhoda Janie Bradley, Anna was preceded in death by her sisters Willie Bradley and Helen Jordan; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Bradley and Sally Bradley.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Nunnally and his wife, Sasha of New Braunfels, Texas; her daughter, Claire Smith and her husband, Matthew of Monroe, North Carolina; Grandchildren, Vanessa, Grooms, Veronica and Lily; brothers Alton Bradley, Larry Bradley, Leonard Bradley and his wife Joyce; nephews, Donnie, Rodney, Rusty and Lamar; nieces Shelia, Debbie, Karen and Lori; and many other extended family members.
