Ann Rudd, 72, of Athens, Georgia, passed away on November 2, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Fulton County, Georgia on September 3, 1951, Ann was the daughter of Everett L. Wright and Ruby Lee Wright. She grew up in South Carolina with her older sisters, Sarah Francis and Virginia Sue. Later in life she was reunited with two additional half siblings, Betty Jean and John. Ann spent many years of her career driving a school bus for both Walton and Oconee County Schools districts and was proud to have been a bus driver for the 1996 Olympics, which were held in Atlanta, GA.
Ann is survived by her loving sons, John Rudd (Jennifer) of Bogart, GA, and Eddie Wright (Rebecca) of Beattyville, Ky. She was a proud grandmother to Amanda McBride (Scott), Tiffany Robertson, Amber Wright, Kassi Wright, Gabe Rudd, and Mason Rudd; great-grandchildren, Landon McBride, Emma McBride, Gavin McBride, Everly McBride, and Maebree Robertson; She is also survived by her sister Sue Rhodes, her brother John Parrot, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband of many years, William David Rudd, her sons Tommy Wright and Paul Rudd, and her sisters, Sarah Ricks and Betty Jean Stell. Although she is no longer with us, Ann's memory will live on through her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Jethro.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hwy 53, Watkinsville, GA.
