Ann Middlebrooks Kilpatrick passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born February 8, 1933 in Farmington, Georgia to Percy and Ora Lee Middlebrooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, McArlen Kilpatrick; her parents, Percy and Ora Lee Middlebrooks; and her sister, Gwen Jackson. Other relatives include her sister, Inez (Victor) Hale; her brother, Percy (Freddie) Middlebrooks. Children include Sherry Stathas, Lynn (Greg) Busby, and Barry (Cynde) Kilpatrick. Her grandchildren include Kristopher (Cara) Stathas, Brittany (David) Dixon, Ben (Mya) Busby, Andrew (Natalia) Busby. Great grandchildren include Hailey and Kaitlyn Dixon, Kyla and Lacey Stathas, and Olyvia and Jack Busby.
Ann was an avid gardener and grew the best tomatoes and spinach you’d ever eat. She was also an accomplished seamstress, making everything from dolls clothes for her grandchildren to her daughter’s wedding dress to the quilts that dressed her beds. Ann was an active member of the Bishop Baptist Church since moving back to the area in 1987 and enjoyed donating her time to church outreach projects. Ann wore many hats; she was a wife, mother, sister, “Nannie,” and friend.
A service will be held in her honor at Lord and Stephens on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Refreshments and visitation with family to follow the service.
