Bogart, GA - Anita Montoya, 87, passed away January 19, 2007.
Born March 3, 1919 in Trinidad, Colorado, she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Teresa Gonzales Lonteen and was one of nine children, having six brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Trinidad, Colorado and worked for many years in the retail industry. She was employed by major department stores and specialty shops in Peoria, Illinois, where she was a resident for forty-two years. Mrs. Montoya lived in Coral Springs, Florida for twenty-five years before moving to Bogart, Georgia in 2005. She was a faithful member of the Roman Catholic faith.
Funeral mass will be Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at 11:00 AM at UGA Catholic Center with Father Jack McDowell officiating. Entombment will be at 3:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Valentine J. Montoya; children, Celeste Strode of Bonneau, SC, Annette Richt of Watkinsville, GA, and Aaron Harel of Hialeah, FL, two sons-in-law Louis Richt and Jim Strode; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister Marie Whitehead in Ohio, one brother Louie Lonteen in Illinois; several cousins, nieces and nephews
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UGA Catholic Center, Sisters of the Sacred Heart and Franciscan Friars.
