Angela Stegall Hansford

Angela Dawn Stegall Hansford, 56, of Crawford, passed on Wednesday, August 15th, 2018 after a courageous battle with breast cancer for over 5 years. She was born on August 15th, 1962 in Concord, North Carolina and was the daughter of Marie Stegall and the late Jack Thomas Stegall.

Angie had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Winterville Baptist Church.  She grew up in Concord, NC, where she was active in the Boys and Girls Club of Cabarrus County, as well as many other sports and extracurricular activities, and she graduated from Central Cabarrus High School.  She then graduated from Western Carolina University, where she was a faithful member of Sigma Kappa.  Following that, she began her career as a flight attendant, working with Delta Airlines for 30 years, where she was able to travel throughout the world.  She enjoyed her many visits to the beach and outdoor activities, along with her talents for arts and crafts and decorating.  Her greatest joy in life was being involved in her children’s activities and education.

She is survived by her husband, Ben Hansford, one daughter, Caroline Hansford and one son, Benjamin Hansford.  She is also survived by her mother, Marie Stegall, her sister, Karen (Bill) Heavner and her brother, Trent (Angie) Stegall, along with her mother-in-law, Libby Hansford, brother-in law John Hansford, nephews Eli Heavner, Max Heavner and Cody Stegall and niece Madison Stegall.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 19, at Winterville Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18 from 6 until 8 pm at Lord and Stephens, East.
