Angela (Bray) Bouknecht

Angela Bouknecht (Angie), 54, of Watkinsville, Georgia passed away from pancreatic cancer on May 16, 2021.

Angela was born in Athens, Georgia on June 5, 1966 to Patricia (Mount) and Mike Bray. She graduated from Oconee County High School and continued to receive her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Georgia and then her Master’s degree from The University of Nebraska.

Angela was married to Thomas Bouknecht on June 9, 1990. They were married 31 joyful years.

She retired from The University of Georgia Student Health Clinic in 2013 where she proudly worked as a Physician Assistant. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Angela was an avid Georgia Football fan and could be found tailgating most Saturdays in the fall. She loved to travel and her most favorite vacation spot was Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. She was also actively involved in her church Winterville United Methodist Church where she shared her passion for the Lord with her friends and family. Everyone that met Angie described her as a ray of sunshine with the most contagious spirit.

Angela is survived by her husband Tom, her two biological children, Mallory Beaton (Married to Alex Beaton) and TJ Bouknecht (Married to Julia Bouknecht), her three bonus children Carmen Dill (Married to Brian Dill), Ken Bouknecht and Christa Ramsey (Married to Kevin Ramsey), six grandchildren Mason Dill, Matthew Bouknecht, Cameron Ramsey, Collin Ramsey, Adaline Bouknecht and Greyson Bouknecht. She is also survived by her sisters, Danielle Skipper (Married to Austin Skipper) and Brianna Bray as well as her brothers, Steve Bray (married to Rhonda Bray) and Brett Bray (married to Casey Bray). Additional family members include numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Angela’s memorial celebration service will be held at Winterville United Methodist Church at 4:00 PM, on July 2nd 2021. The service will also be live streamed on the church website as well as the church Facebook page for those who wish to attend virtually. A reception with refreshments will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Winterville United Methodist Church general fund or Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research.  The family of Angela Bouknecht wishes to thank Lord and Stephens Funeral Home and Winterville United Methodist Church for their wonderful support as well as Bridgeway Hospice and Palliative Care for taking great care of Angela in her final days.
