In Memory of Andy Pritchett

Anthony Michael “Andy” Pritchett, 71, of Winterville, Georgia, passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the evening of May 16, 2020 at his home.

The son of James William Pritchett and Annie Ruth Arthur Pritchett, Andy was born on August 26, 1948 in Carnesville, Ga and later raised in Winterville, Ga where he graduated from Oglethorpe County High School in 1966.

He was an Army Veteran, serving our country from May 1968 through May 1971.  Upon completion of basic training at Fort Benning, Ga, Andy served in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharp-Shooter Designation, two Overseas Service Bars, and Good Conduct Medal.  Andy was retired from Pritchett’s Painting, the business he owned for over 30 years.

He was married to and is survived by his beloved wife, Belinda Diane Wagner Pritchett for 47 years. They shared two children, Shannon Pritchett and April Pritchett Moore, and two precious grandchildren, Andi Grace Moore and Joey Moore.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was happiest in the company of family and friends. He was always ready to lend a hand or his expertise to help in any way he could. He was known to tell a good joke and had a quick wit about him that would make you smile. He loved being with his kids and grandkids, and he and Belinda were famous for their backyard cookouts.  Andy was a true patriot at heart.  He lived his life devoted to God, his family, and his country.

Our hearts are broken that he is no longer here with us, but we rejoice knowing he is safely home and in the company of family and friends who have been waiting on him at the Gate of Heaven. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is also survived by loved ones: Brother, Calvin Pritchett; Mother-in-Law Darlene Pinson; Sister-in-Laws, Carolyn Pritchett (Eugene), Charlotte Culberson (Jimmy), and Vickie Thompson (Ray), and many nieces and nephews.  His brother, Eugene Pritchett, and sisters, Hilda Hagerstrand, Judy Horton, and Jimmie Harmon pre-deceased him.

A Hero’s Send-Off will be celebrated at Countryside Manor 56 Grove Chapel Road Winterville, Georgia 30603 on Wednesday, May 20, at 2:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Memorial contributions in his honor can be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
