Andrea Renee Wamsley

Andrea Renee Lester (Wamsley) died on Monday November 4, 2024. Following a lengthy illness, she passed away peacefully under Hospice care at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. Andrea was a friend to many and was well known and respected within the Athens-area restaurant and entertainment community. 

 Andrea was born on October 25, 1981, here in Athens. She graduated near the top of her class from Clark Central High School in June 2000. She was an active member of the Drama Club and worked on the Yearbook staff as a photographer.

 Andrea is survived by her mother Pam (Stoltz) Murray and her “dad” Patt Murray of Athens and her father, Alfred Lester, and stepmother Linda, also of Athens. On her mother’s side, she is survived by her cousins Scott Thompson (Tennessee) and Diane Smalley (Alabama). On her father’s side, she is survived by her uncle David Lester and step-brother Keith Crockford and step-sister Valerie Crockford.

 Andrea was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Vivian Stoltz of Athens, her aunt, Annette Stoltz Smalley (Knoxville), her cousin Mike Thompson (Ohio), and her paternal grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Lester of Athens.

 Andrea had no children, but she loved her pets and cared for them dearly. She also cared for those she did not know by being an organ/eye donor.

 A Celebration of Life is being planned for 6:00pm December 5 at the 40 Watt Club in Athens.

 We are all visitors
