Amelia (Amy) Bibis Zadurski, age 85, died January 27, 2009, in Athens, Georgia.
She was born in 1923 in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She married in 1942 and went on to raise a family of three. She lived and worked in the Milwaukee area until moving to South Bend, Indiana in 1973. She led a wonderful life in South Bend, working as a nursing assistant at the same hospital for 30 years.
When diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2004, she moved to Texas. Her only surviving offspring., Linda Zadurski DiPietro, and son-in-law, Tony DiPietro, lovingly cared for her in their Texas home. In 2006, the threesome moved to the DiPietro's chosen retirement city, Athens, Georgia. Athens was already home to Amelia's grandson, Frank DiPietro.
Amelia made many friends during her 2-year residence in Athens. She loved the caretakers and staff at Whispering Pines Assisted Living, Athens Regional Medical Center, and Heritage Healthcare. She brought joy to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and caretakers.
Lord and Stephens (East) is assisting the family. There will be no services; however, donations to the Georgia Chapter of Alzheimer's Association in her memory would be appreciated. Her remains will be transported at a later date for burial in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cudahy, Wisconsin.
