Bogart - Alvin Etherage Morris Jr. died Friday, April 29, 2011. A native of N. Augusta, S.C., he was the son of the late Alvin Etherage Morris, Sr., and Myrtis Inez Witcher. He graduated from the South Carolina School of Pharmacy. He owned his own drug store in Faith, N.C. for 10 years, and afterward worked 15 years with Eckerd Drugs and 15 years with CVS, retiring in 1998. Alvin was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Morris; children and their spouses, Bryan and Donna Morris, of Augusta, Lanny and Mary Morris, of Cumming, and Susan and Jack Johnson, of Atlanta; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Curt Harris, of Chickmauga; and grandsons, Michael (Molly) Morris, Ryan Morris, William Morris, Andrew Morris, Jack Johnson III, Thomas Johnson, and Joseph Johnson. A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Norbert Hahn officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Lord & Stephens Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
