Alton Nix, 82, of Hull GA, died Monday, April 25, 2016. Born to the late Ed and Esther Crenshaw Nix, Alton was a founding member of Heritage Fellowship in Bogart. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Alton retired from Athens Clarke County as road superintendent in 1995. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Nix, daughter, Judy Frances Taylor, and was the last surviving of 10 siblings. Mr. Nix is survived by his daughter, Melinda Bagwell (Jim), grandchildren, Samantha Williams (Jason), and Joseph Alton Bagwell, and great-grandchild Taylor Williams. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 27th from 6-8 P.M. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 28th at 2:00 P.M. at Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heritage Fellowship 205 Fowler Mill Rd. Bogart GA 30622. The family wishes to extend thanks to The Oaks of Athens where Alton resided for five years.
