Alton Scott Fleming, 52, of Comer, died Thursday, March 17, 2016.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Austin LaClade Fleming and Cecil Sorrells Fleming. Scott was a lifelong resident of Madison County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Kenneth Fleming. For the last 20 years, Scott has been a devoted son, companion and caregiver to his mom whom he lived with at her request. Mom always gave glowing reports of his care for her and never ever had any complaint of him. His family and friends testify to his loving care and commitment to her dying wishes, and trust the Lord that Scott's memory will reflect his kindness and care. Scott made tremendous sacrifices for his mother and is to be honored for his love and devotion to her even to the time of his own death.
Survivors include three brothers: Steve (Charlene) Fleming, Laddy (Natalie) Fleming and Ronald (Nancy) Fleming; one sister in law: Tina Fleming Hardigree; several nieces and nephews: Michelle Fleming Thomas, Joe Breen, Michael Breen, Adam Fleming, James Fleming, Leah Fleming Johns, Courtney Fleming and Zac Fleming and several great nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Meadow Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
