Alma Inez (MeMaw) Williams, 84, died September 27, 2005.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late B.R. and Audrey Fowler Connally and widow of Spurgeon (Spud) Williams. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James, Grover and Ray Connally. She was retired from Chicopee Mfg. Company after 35 years of service and was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Rev. Rick Scott and Major Barry Corbitt officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include her children, Garry (Yevonne) Williams of Athens and Sandra (Billy) Mize of Leesville, SC; sisters, Velma Seagraves of Lumber City, GA, Lillian Chandler of Athens, Alice Kesler of Winterville and Jean Taylor of Macon; brother, Willie G. Connally of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Melanie Hipp, Chad Williams, Tamara Steward, Candace Williams and David Williams; 5 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
