Alma Jean Self, 73, wife of the late Charles E. Self, Sr., died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Greene County, she lived most of her life in Oconee County. Jean was the daughter of the late James and Mozelle Gunter Harvey and sister to the late Loraine McNaire, Betty Wood, Sara Terell, Johnny Harvey and Edward Harvey. She was a member of Ross Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Wellington Puritan from the customer service department. Survivors include her, son and daughter in law, Charles E. (Janet) Self, Jr. of Bishop; brothers: Calvin Harvey of Bishop, Thomas Harvey of Winder, Jimmy Harvey of High Shoals; sister: Linda Powell of Bishop; grandchildren; Keith (Amy) Faulk, Amber (Brian) Douglas, Dillon (Danielle) Self and great grandchildren; Kaitlyn Faulk, Jordan Faulk, Nathan Smith, Alexis Faulk, Kadence Smith, Alex Douglas and Connor Douglas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. Burial will be held at Ross Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
