Alice Marie Christopher

Alice Marie Christopher, 76, of Athens, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, February 21, 2022.

She was the youngest daughter of the late Robert Lee and Evelyn Aaron Christopher. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sandra Christopher and Ola Christopher Sorrow.

Alice worked at Athens General (now Piedmont Athens Regional) Hospital and L.M. Leathers and was a member of Cornerstone Church.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Christopher Gillispie of Athens; nieces and nephews: Mark (Hilda) Sorrow of Athens, Patty (Johney) Friar of Auburn, Dagon Gillispie of Barton, NY, Shawn (Jocelyn) Gillispie of San Diego, CA, and Matthew (Rhonda) Sorrow of Arnoldsville; as well as six great-nieces and -nephews, a great-great niece, several cousins, and a brother-in-law.

The family would like to thank the staff of Whispering Pines Assisted Living for their care of Alice over the years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 25 at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service. Burial will follow the service at Winterville Cemetery.
