Watkinsville, GA - Alfred R. "Buck" Bell, 88, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Mulberry Grove Assisted Living.
Buck served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II. He later retired from the University of Georgia.
Buck was the son of the late Flanders and Audrey Bell of Oglethorpe County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Bell, his son, Larry Bell, sister, Nerea Reynolds and brothers, Dick, Pete and Donald Bell.
Survivors include one daughter, Paulette Pittman of Zebulon, NC; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Martha Marable, nieces and nephews and 1 special niece and caregiver, Joyce Andrews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 4:00 PM at Oconee Chapel, Watkinsville.
The family will be at the home of Clarence and Joyce Andrews, 1070 Camden Park Drive, Watkinsville.
