Lester Carson, 82, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice in Athens, GA. He was born Allie Lester Carson to the late Ethel Hale Carson and Allie Fonie Carson on April 14, 1932. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his one sibling, Mavis Nix and his son, Jeff.
Mr. Carson lived and farmed in Oconee County all of his life. He worked for Singer Sewing Machine Co. for 15 years in the 60s and 70s.

Mr. Carson is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary Frances Carson. Lester and Frances met at Antioch Christian Church in February of 1952 where he was a lifelong member and married February 4, 1956 at Oakhurst Baptist Church, Decatur, GA. He was also survived by son, Greg Carson of Bogart, daughter, Angela and her husband Byron Thaxton of Watkinsville, daughter, Suzanne and her husband Charles Fuller of Athens, one granddaughter, Amanda Savage Peppers and her husband Dusty Peppers of Watkinsville, and two great grandchildren, Mollie Frances and Carson Peppers of Watkinsville.

Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2015 at Lord and Stephens West from 5 to 7 pm and funeral services will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 at Antioch Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be Bob Williams, Brent Marable, Wayne Marable, Albert Hale, James Hale, and Carlton Hale.

Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
