Albert Richard Maxey Jr.

Albert Richard Maxey, Jr. of Colbert, GA, born October 10, 1941, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Richard was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a U.S. Navy veteran. After many years of service, he retired from the United States Postal Service and Westinghouse.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Richard Maxey Sr. and Willie Saye Maxey; and siblings Lois Maxey Payne, Harry Maxey, David Maxey, and Tommy Maxey.

He is survived by his wife, and high school sweetheart, Barbara Summers Maxey; siblings Beverly Maxey Dove (Lester) and Kathy Maxey Keene (Gary); children, Richard Maxey (Patti), Mitchell Maxey (Melanie), and Regina Bonner (Louis); seven grandchildren, Devon Maxey, Kristin Maxey, Shannon Maxey, Chloe Cubberley, Dillon Bonner, Luke Bonner, and Jessie Bonner; and two great-grandchildren, Liam Bonner and Astraea Bonner.

The family will receive friends, Friday, September 21st from 6-8 P.M. Funeral service will be held Satuday, September 22nd, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Lord and Stephens, East.
