Jeffrey Alan Grindle of Athens, GA unexpectedly passed away Friday evening, September 16th, at the age of 56. Alan was born to Billy H. Grindle and Willie (Nation) Grindle on January 6, 1960. He attended Roosevelt high school in Atlanta. After moving to Athens in 1994, he worked as a master mechanic at Tyner Truck and Auto Repair until his time of death.
Alan loved to camp and fish in the great outdoors. He passed peacefully under the stars in the Great Smoky Mountains near Cherokee, NC doing what he loved, camping and fishing.
He was a devoted father to his daughter Ashley Grindle. He loved to dote over her and took her shopping at her favorite thrift stores every Saturday.
He was preceded in death by his father Billly Grindle. He is survived by his mother Willie Grindle, sisters Brenda Marsh, Ann Baize, and Julie Foster, brother Joey Grindle, daughter Ashley Grindle, stepsons Raumsie Gaballa and Youssef Gaballa, and wife Sherry Lowrance.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 23rd from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. the service will follow at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel of Lord and Stephens, 4355 Lexington Road in Athens.
