After a long battle with dementia, Agathe Hildegard Marks, got her wings and went to walk with the Angels on March 26, 2025 at the age of 85.
She was born to Ernst Hartmeyer and Maria Kneis Hartmeyer in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Agathe met her husband, Don, while he was stationed in Germany with the United States Army. She worked with the Deutsche Bank in Germany and eventually retired from the Navy Exchange located at the Navy Supply Corps School in Athens as both a Uniform Shop Specialist and as Head Cashier. Agathe loved to cook and bake and she enjoyed bringing meals to work to share with others. She was well known for her Black Forest Cake which was incredible. She loved traveling in both the United States and in Europe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Michael Marks.
Survivors include her sister, Traudel Mueller; children, Stefan and spouse, Uschi, Barbara and life partner, Mitch and Patricia and life partner, Tracy; granddaughter, Sabrina and spouse, Bryce.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East. Inurnment will be held on April 16, 2025 in Canton at the Georgia National Cemetery.
