Adrian Dallas Simmons

Adrian Dallas Simmons, 91, husband of Patricia Nemeth Simmons, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. They were married for 66 years. Born in Folkston, GA, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Simmons and Martha Pauline Capps Simmons. Dallas proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. When he returned to Folkston, he and Patricia married and lived there for the next 31 years. They raised their four daughters while Dallas built houses and Patricia taught school and made cakes before relocating to North Georgia. There, Dallas continued to build houses and work as a finish carpenter while Patricia continued to make cakes until they both retired. They were also foster parents for numerous children before adopting their two sons, Michael and Joshua. He was a member of Center Church, Hoschton, GA and enjoyed working as a Gideon with the local Gideon’s camp for several years. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Susan (Richard) Tankersley, Carol (Alex) Autry, Lisa (Jerry) Taylor, Adrienne Foley, Michael Simmons and Joshua Simmons, fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11AM at Forest Heights Baptist Church with Pastors Blane Spence and Clay Crews officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2PM at Homeland Cemetery in Folkston, GA.
