Mrs. Ada Nell Wells Moorehead, lovingly known as Dolly, 90, of Athens,Ga. died Friday April 16, 2010 at her residence. She was a daughter of the late T.S. Sr. and Ada Mallory Wells of Stone Mountain. She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church since 1938 where she was the oldest living member. She was employed with the US Department of Agriculture for over 25 years. She assisted in the polls in Oconee County for a number of years. She was an active member of the Athens Business Girls Club, Federally Employed Women (FEW), National Association of retired Federal Employees and the Altrusa Club of Athens. Mrs. Moorehead was a recent member of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She also represented the Stanley Home Products. Mrs. Moorehead was an accomplished seamstress.
Mrs. Moorehead was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Moorehead Sr.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April 18, 2010 at Lord and Stephens West Chapel at 2 P.M. with Rev. Doug Nix officiating. Interment will be held in Stone Mountain Cemetery in Stone Mountain Georgia. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:30 on Saturday April 17, 2010
Survivors include, Daughter and Son in Law- Rita and Lewis Tweedell, Athens, Ga. and Son and Daughter in Law, Leroy Jr. and Cathy Moorehead, Athens, Ga. Grandchildren, Michelle Oleson, Rachel Moorehead, Andy and Cindy Strickland, John and Christy Strickland, Step Grandchildren Heidi Tweedell, Chantill and Shane Kitchens, and Mica and Brad Turner. 10 Great Grandchildren, and a number of other relatives .
