Patty Dulaney Brooks, 72, of Watkinsville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, after a brief illness.
Patty was born on September 10, 1951, in Athens, Georgia to Clyde Dulaney and the late Eula Mae Dulaney (Watkins). A lifelong resident of Clarke and Oconee counties, she graduated from Athens High School in 1969. She worked at Oconee State Bank for approximately 10 years and Synovus Bank for several more years before deciding to further her career by joining The Georgia Power team in Athens and eventually retired after 32 years of service in 2017.
Patty is survived by her companion of 45 years, Mac Farris; sons, Max Brooks of Atlanta, Reid Brooks and wife Suzanne of Bogart, Jason Brooks and wife Ann of Bogart; stepson Ryan Farris and wife Linda of Louisville; father Clyde Dylaney, Jr. and his wife Rosemary; brothers, Fred Dulaney and wife Susan of Ballground, Danny Dulaney of Athens; three grandchildren, Sullivan, Shelby, and Abigale; and nieces.
Patty & Mac have been citizens of the Watkinsville community for many years together. They enjoyed being active members of Ashford Memorial Methodist Church for many years. Patty was a committed member of the church's Ladies Bible Study group and was committed to serving Christ in the community with her family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lord & Stephens West. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Ashford Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Greene, Jr. officiating. A graveside will follow at 2:00 PM at Johnson United Methodist Church.
